Grown in Egypt and currently based in Frankfurt, Elsam Elnebishy graduated from the Choreography and Performance Master's programme (CUP) in Gießen, Germany, in 2024. Prior to that, he worked as a choreographer and dancer across Africa and Europe, after completing his studies at Maat|CCDC Contemporary Dance School in Cairo, Egypt, in 2019. He also studied at the Cairo Institute for Liberal Arts and Sciences (CILAS) in 2016.  His choreographic work explores the relationship between language, voice and body, creating spaces for connection through humour, empathy and reflection. Project: The research explores the concept of grief of utopias and political defeat in the Arab world, investigating how this has impacted the surrounding reality but also looking for other possible modes of action to activate.
